At first glance, It is interesting. Then my brain starts to hurt and that may just be because the illuminati have infiltrated my mind via a video clip. Not really. Maybe…
Anyway! The sometimes locked up, sometimes ‘Cray’ Ballers have dropped their brand new film clip for the overplayed track ‘N*ggas In Paris’, with a warning too!
The clip is recorded footage of a live show played whilst on the ‘Watch The Throne’ tour at the LA Staples Centre late last year.
It starts with a serious warning aimed towards people with Photosensitive Epilepsy. At first the Video didn’t inclue the official warning but due to viewer comments and critic reviews mentioning it to ‘Epilepsy Action‘, A UK based organisation supporting those with the condition, a warning as seen above was added.
None the less, the video showcases a high quality view of what it would be like to actually see this world running duo live. Check it out, but be warned (haha).
It seems that ‘Epic Records’ have released a the single titled ‘Hollywood Tonight’ on behalf of the late Michael Jackson. The track features on his album ‘Michael’, which compiles a load of previously unreleased music along with some impressive collaborations with artist’s such as ‘Lenny Kravits’, ‘Dave Grohl’ & ’50 Cent’.
Surprisingly staying true to his style, This sounds like a track that should be placed on his multi-platinum, award winning album ‘Thriller’. With tight, funky beats and his classic ooh’s and ahh’s thrown in you are likely to become a bit nostalgic!
None the less, The music critics response has been generally positive. The track was originally written in 1999 and left in his archives to collect dust. ‘Hollywood Tonight’ was returned to and tinkered with numerous times over 8 years but ‘Jackson’ apparantly never got around to working on it again.
A lovely gesture by Epic Records to release the track as a single but it seems to be somewhat daunting. Growing up as an avid fan of the ‘King Of Pop’ I would have gone to great lengths to see the man himself live and to have tracks like this released with so much publicity is a major catch 22 for fans; We love to hear his work but hate knowing that we wont ever see him live again.
After releasing their highly anticipated debut LP ‘Prisoner‘ in September last year, ‘The Jezabels’ have been travelling the globe, showcasing their raw talent and proving exactly why they are such a hit back here in Oz.
It has been an ‘Endless Summer of success’ for ‘The Jezabels’, Taking home the gong for ‘Album Of The Year’ from Rolling Stone magazine, securing spot #10 on Triple J’s hottest 100 of 2011 with their song ‘Endless Summer’ and Recieveing APRA & ARIA award nominations. Not to mention playing to sold out shows across the globe!
This all makes for a very impatient wait for ‘The Jezabels’ to arrive back in Australia and again have home crowds swooning.
The genre bending four-some are currently in the midst of touring Europe but have managed to organise & announce a 5 date national tour of Australia which will commence in June! And aren’t we ecstatic! Announcing the news on Wednesday via Triple J along with supporting acts ‘Snakadaktal’ and ‘LIGHTS’ (CAN). Dates have been released and tickets will be available for purchase to the general public on the 13th of March.
I was lucky enough to see the ‘The Jezabels’ at the Enmore Theatre, October of last year whilst they carried out their ‘Prisoner’ tour. Going straight to the top of my list as one of the best acts I’ve seen in a long time. A Fierce but mysterious stage presence from front gal Hayley Mary and an overall heavenly sound that echoed in my ears long after I left that show (White noise never sounded so good!).
So be sure to grab your ticket and prepare to share your experience with their very loyal-loving fan base.

‘RÜFÜS’ prove why ‘This Summer’ is better than our last summer…literally.
The Indie-Dance trio from Sydney have today dropped a new song from their upcoming EP, giving us all a taste of what’s yet to come. Proving to be a breath of fresh but very familiar, euphoric air!
After gaining a loyal fan base, playing a fair few festivals over the last summer including Big Day Out, Homebake & Supporting fellow aussies THE ASTON SHUFFLE in their last tour titled ‘We Wont Get Lost’, ‘RÜFÜS’ seem to have been working hard and delivering the goods AGAIN, with their newest track ‘This Summer’.
Pulling you in straight away, the crisp beat wraps around your eardrums leaving you curious for more. By the time the chorus hits you will start wishing you’re at a swanky club with a cocktail in one hand, grooving to the enigmatic vibe this song very clearly emits.
I am nothing but eager for the release of their new EP which is out on the April 2nd 2012 (Woo!).
